So how to you transfer .nib images back to a real apple? I thought
that was challenging at best?

It's been a while since I've done this, but since the .nibs have been
deprotected, you should be able to use Saltine's Super Transcopy (SST)
in an emulator to pack the .nib image into two .dsk images, then
transfer them to your Apple II with ADTPro or whatever method you use.
Once there, you can use SST again on the real Apple II to recombine
them.

If they are unprotected disks with only a non-default volume number,
couldn't you just mount them in an emulator and do a straight copy
of them to a blank .dsk file?
