Unfortunately the 8 bit Apples were limited to monochrome text. You could
get colored text in the hi-res graphics mode, but to be readable it would have
to be 20 columns. The APEX programming system managed to use IIgs fonts
on the 8 bit computers but I can't remember if it allowed colors. It did have
colored text in it's double hi-res mode but it was 20 or 22 columns wide.
Prodos has a global page byte which holds this info. It's located at $BF98.
You can extract the memory info from bits 5 and 4 where
01 = 48k
10 = 64k
11 = 128k
memory installed on plug in cards is accessed differently and not normally
available to the system.
