There are two parts to ANSI (aka VT100).  One is the character set,
which you are thinking PC charcter set.  Second is the control codes
for the terminal which include color information.

The Apple II's generally don't have a PC character set and it is fixed
in ROM.  The other problem is that the Apple II's don't display text
in color.

What would be really cool is a IIgs console which did a good ANSI
implementation in super hi-res mode.  You could use dithering to get
all 16 colors that ANSI uses.  Does anyone know if anyone has written
such a beast?
