Hi Michael, while implementing and converting  Robert Justice's IIc
smartport drive project over to use MicroSD I found it advantageous to
sometimes zero out the media. I used a Western Digital diagnostic
program to do that.

There is an option to write zeros to the drive which takes about 4
minutes per GB.
