I don't have the latest version of Filemaker but I don't believe it will
directly open an AppleWorks database file either. AppleWorks documents would
have to be saved as ASCII text and imported into a Filemaker document.
If you didn't mind Clarisworks, it'd open Appleworks directly and save a fair
bit of work.
