Couple of things. First, make sure the SCSI CD-ROM driver is
installed in the Drivers folder of your boot volume. This driver,
which comes with System 6.0.1, supports the majority of SCSI
and SCSI-II CD-ROMs out there (has a problem with audio on
SCSI-II drives, but works fine with data CD-ROMs).
Next, make sure the HS.FST and HFS.FST are installed in the
FST folder of the boot volume. This lets you access ISO9660
(Windows) and HFS (Mac) CD-ROMs. Most of the IIGS
CD-ROM packages are either ISO9660 or HFS. DiscQuest
CDs are all ISO9660. Golden Orchard, AUGE, and all the
Shareware Solutions II disks are HFS.
Lastly, on the IIGS, the SCSI card boots the highest SCSI-ID,
so make sure the CD-ROM has a lower SCSI-ID than your
hard drive (if you have an SCSI hard drive as the drive your
boot volume is on).
