Ohhhh...<SOB> and I have a ROM 01...
Short of finding a ROM 03 and swapping boards (and what would be the point
then, when I could just use the ROM 03 instead) or trying to find someone
with a spare board, there is really no way to 'upgrade' from 01 to 03
short of a boardswap right? especially since 03 is two chips and such,
among other things.

Are there any other 01 vs 03 things I should know about?


BTW, I remembered someone talking about how Ensoniq chips were hard to
replace...one of the refurb places (can't remember which for sure but I'm
thinking shreve) has 'dead' IIgs boards for sale. Now, they're fairly
cheap, and something tells me that an ensoniq might be something to not
die as often as other parts of it, so for a fairly reasonable price you
can grab 2 or 3 and see if you can get a working ensoniq chip out of it.
