Have you ever opened a book whose contents weren't immediately evident
by its cover?  A small price to pay for curiosity.

My view is this: If I tell you that you shouldn't steal but then you
see me stealing, does that make stealing ok?  No, but rather reveals
the truth that we are ALL less than perfect.  We need to help each
other realize areas of life that we could improve without "casting the
first stone."  This has been misinterpreted by so many people to mean
that we can't say that someone is doing something wrong, which
couldn't be further than the truth (how many judges have done things
they convict people of in past?).  If only perfect people could judge
other people, nothing would ever get done legally.

Finally, I in no ways mean to exonerate Nathan (since I haven't read
most of the remarks you deemed disparaging).  I do know that he was
overly harsh with some people (imo) and that he is a professing
Christian, which does NOT mean that he is perfect!  If he were to
verbally abuse someone for their shortcomings rather than simply tell
them that he thought they were wrong, then I would have to agree that
he was less than perfect in that exchange.
