I use Spectrum instead of ProTERM 3.1. Here is the init string
which was used on our GS with a ZOOM 14.4 modem prior to changing over
to a PC for net access:
ATZ<checkmark>ATE0V1Q0S7=45&K3&D0\N3%C0&C1
The "<checkmark>" is a check symbol. All of the "0"'s are zeroes. This
string is for a 'high speed' connection using hardware handshaking.
Check your Proterm settings to be sure that hardware hanshaking or
"hardware flow control" is set. Also, be sure to use a 'high-speed'
modem cable to connect from the GS to your modem.
