Well, yes and no. They have circuitry to map out bad blocks, and the
life expectancy is supposed to be out of the realm of "normal"
lifetime use. Google "cf card lifespan" for lots of interesting
reading. Question has been raised many times. "Shelf life" of data
was spec'd at 10 years by Kensington in one citation I saw; I assume
that meant with no power to the card, but I'll leave the paper to you
to read. ;-)
