There are 8 RAM chips in the Apple IIe on the bottom right hand corner.
If they are socketed, you can replace them with the same chips (from
Radio Shack). If they are soldered, copy down the number from the chips
and go to Radio Shack to get 8 replacements. When you come back,
piggy back each chip, making sure the legs all contact and grab the
legs on the soldered chips. This is crude, but it works. Don't forget
to make sure the new chips and the old chips are not flipped 180%,
otherwise you might short out something.

If you know how to solder, you can use a sharp cutter tool to cut out
the old RAM chips first and solder the new chips to the leg stubs, but
this is not necessary.
