When I was using these cards with the RamCharger external power supplies, I
recall having to either remove a jumper (or re-position it) in order to
connect the external power to the card.
You may need to check your jumper position to make sure that it is supplying
motherboard power to the card. Otherwise, I suspect it will exhibit the dead
symptoms you describe.
Where is the jumper on the card? What does it look like? How do I
tell whether it is positioned to provide motherboard power to the
card?
