Sorry; you can't have everything. :-)  There's not a common 5.25" card
that will pass along control if it can't boot.  (There might be one or
more out there; I just don't know of any).

It sounds like you might want to get your hard drive running to the
point where it just boots into ProDOS - then you can PR# whatever slot
you like.
