Sadly, most of the computing public *wants* to be treated like
sheep. That is, they don't want to have to think about their
tools, they want to use them.
My girlfriend is a good example: she was furious when her
PC lost an email to me. (Goofy s/w, probably problems with
the modem software, who knows where the problem lies.)
She didn't want to sit down and recomplile a modem driver.
She wanted to disassemble the computer with an axe.
