The number is always 64K.Can you try a newer version of CP/AM? I wrote some ramdisk support code for CP/AM, although I think 4.0B was before my involvement and might have been Steve Malechek's work. I'm almost positive that later versions (5.0 and 5.1.x) will properly recognize IIgs memory as if it were AUX slot expansion. My IIgs has a 1 MB Apple RAM card installed. Is there any way to make CP/AM recognize the IIgs RAM as it would have recognized (on a IIe) a RAMWorks card?If the newer code doesn't work, let me know?SteveWill try& let you know. Thanks! That did NOT work. Running CPAM 5.1, I ran MEGDRIVE and it said 54K in the RAM disk.
You may want to try disabling (or minimizing the size of) the Ramdisk in the IIgs control panel. Then, be sure to a power-cycle restart to ensure that the setting actually "takes" (not all of them do without a deep reset).
The CP/AM ramdisk driver uses the raw AUX memory and neither knows nor cares about the IIgs ramdisk implementation. In fact, the latter may actually be reducing the amount of detectable AUX memory (thus my suggestion to disable it).
If that doesn't do it, I'm out of ideas. I do not recall ever using a traditional Softcard (AE or Microsoft) on a IIgs due to the lack of ability to cooperate with higher speed settings. If you can pickup an Applicard/Starcard or a Freed Z80 board, you'll be a lot happier.
It may be possible to use an AE Ramfactor in one of the bus slots, but I have never tried this on a IIgs.
