want something like a 100-200 mcd brightness, 2-3V, green LED with a 40 degree
viewing angle that will match the original in size/shape. A local
electronic parts supplier should stock high-brightness green LED's. They are
available via mail order from Digi-Key and Mouser.

As D. Peschel guessed, I zeroed-in on the "Woz" in your original question
and began thinking in terms of the GS. In an old ][, your best direct
replacement will be a 5V mini-bulb rated at 40-60 mA. A low-current 6V bulb is
okay-- it should last a bit longer but will, probably, not be as bright.

Today, most ON indicators are LED's. If you do not mind a bit of extra
bother, you could fit a high-brightess LED in series with a small 75-100 Ohm
resistor into the key cap space. LED's are, generally, cheaper than bulbs, use
less current, run cooler, last much longer, and come in colors!
