I may have read the post wrong originally, as I thought it was a IIgs as
well.  After reading it again, it could be a II+ or a IIe and If I recall
it seems that they had a small odd-ball type lamp...i.e not your typical 
Radio Shack item, but probably found at a good electronics supply house.
