Moderation is the ONLY way to prevent a repeat of commercial Apple IIGS
software from being posted to the csa2* hierarchy.
It's also the only way to get rid of the spam, the personal attacks, the
flame wars, and the outright lies that are being propagated here on csa2
by just a handful of rotten apples.
The Apple II areas on CompuServe, Delphi and Genie - when compared to
csa2 - are like night and day. On those services, people are friendly and
there is a real sense of community. Those areas are supportive of Apple
II developers, not hostile like on csa2. People there have fun being
online, unlike here.
Thousands of helpful and friendly Apple II users are so disgusted and
outraged by the antics of csa2 that they simply stay away from here.
So, as I see it, we can all sink to the same level as the few rotten
Apples, or we can take steps to insure that csa2 joins the rest of the
Apple II community. csa2 is, in its current state, an out-cast from that
Apple II community, and in some ways, csa2 is like the feeble step-son
that's hidden away in the attic.
Since The Saint covered his tracks so well, no action can be taken
against him, although anyone with an IQ of 14 or above knows exactly who
that low-life really is. So, if you have a problem with the csa2
moderation movement, you know who to blame.
A few years back, csa2 voted to break up into a number of different
newsgroups. There is a set procedure for newsgroup decision making, and
there is a time frame for discusion before the final vote is taken.
As agreed by every single Apple II developer in attendance at Kfest, we
need to get the ball rolling on this immediately. Since I have Shareware
Solutions II to run, I would like to ask for volunteers to locate the
materials that outline the voting procedures, other volunteers to write
up the proposals, etc.
If others are as disgusted with csa2 as I am, please contact me. I will
be more than happy to coordinate the effort, so that there's not too much
duplication of effort.
In any case, it's obvious that we need either moderation or a little
frontier justice.
I for one will never bow down to the thieves, pirates and terrorists. You
may say I'm a dreamer, but I'm not the only one.
It's time for Apple II usenet users to do a little house-cleaning.
It's time for decent and honest Apple II users to reclaim csa2.
