Nope, they dont work.  However all is not lost.  Almost any commercial 
video game monitor ( Some Atari monitors do not work) will hook up to a GS.
My system is living proof (and I work in the industry) using a 13" 
monitor salvaged from a junked trivia game. You can get them in sizes to
33". A new 13" monitor runs bout $225-250, 19" from 250-350, 25"  395up
not sure on new 33"
