Re: Concerning the Beagle Oldies freeware programs

Looking at the verification section on Willie's Treasure Chest Project,
all I see is the following:

 >The above mentioned titles are indeed freeware (but not public
 >domain) and can be distributed as such.
 >
 >Mark Munz
 >ex-Beagle Bros

The question has never been whether the Beagle titles were freeware. That
fact was established in 1989.

However, there remains a question about the status of distribution of
the Beagle Oldies because of the following restriction that was placed on
the titles when they were made available for downloading from ProBeagle:

> Please do NOT upload any of these programs (or any other Beagle products)
> to any other information service.

And now, Willie Yeo re-posts the following Usenet message from Mark Munz
(which was not, incidentally, included anywhere on the verification's page):

 >Unfortunately, I've been extremely busy - but I have talked with the
 >President of Beagle Bros and obtained permission to put the Beagle
 >Oldies on a web site.

For one, I'd really like to get some clarification on this issue.

And, it sounds like Willie would like to get this cleared up too. It also
sounds like he has a way of getting in contact with Mark Simonson, so
rather than turning this into yet another csa2 flame fest, let's wait to
see what info Willie can get from Mark Simonson.
