Ouch.  You _do_ have a problem.  Good luck getting the data off
intact (it can probably be done using extraordinary measures to
relieve friction and/or goose up the motor torque), but...

When it started to spin up slower, don't you wish you had made
a backup?  Of course, a backup is always a good idea, but your
drive fairly SHOUTED a warning to you!
