What do you mean by recognized? Did it just not appear on the desktop or
didn't you see the drive in a mount utility such as 'SCSIProbe'?

To appear on a Mac desktop it needs:
- a Mac compatible partition map
- a Mac Driver partition
- at least a valid HFS partition (except, I think, if you have PCExchange
  installed, then there should be a formatted ProDOS partition)
To patition and format a SCSI media in such a fashion you need a formatter
utility. I know only of commercial ones which come with the drives. One is
HDT (Hard Disk Toolkit) which allows you to create HFS, ProDOS and Unix
(A/UX) partitions.
There are some shareware mounting utilities such as SCSIProbe and
Mt.Everything though.
