I don't have my system manuals handy, but I remember getting the
$0027 error occasionaly with both my AE HD and Apple Superdrive
on a superdrive controller card.
I only got this error when trying to format MS-Dos disks. Someone
gave me the answer that the system sees a locked disk and that messes up the
format.
I don't know if this is true or not. The $4027 error is the same error
but the 4 indicates its coming to you from the finder.
One of the gurus around here probably has the answer.
I'm interested in knowing if you were trying to re-format an
ms-dos disk when you got this error?
