Help -- ImageWriter II -- Missing Dots.

Hello:

 I have an IW II hooked up to my //e. I'm having problems with dots
missing in the characters that are printed. On capital letters, it
happens right through the center, on lower case letters, the top is
missing. I'm using a brand new ribbon so I know it's not a worn
ribbon. Does the print head need replacing or cleaning or something
like that?
