    This seems to happen with most any IIgs case-lid which is removed 
and replaced frequently, unless your very careful. Both my GS cases have
the plastic cracked on the left tab, so while it has remained in place,
it will no longer lock down when closed (the tab remains pushed in).
It's merely a stiff bit of plastic that flexes, repeated stress is
bound to cause it to crack or break off completely at some point.

    A better idea would have been flexible metal tabs with a plastic
coating, or something with springs. Ah well, just another delicate 
piece on the IIgs, like the keyboard ADB connectors with no support 
other than their solder joints. :)
