Iomega and Apple HS Scsi

I've been having troubles with trying to use an Iomega Zipdrive on my gs.
At first I thought it was a defective disk that was damaged. Now I
narrowed the problem to either my scsi interface or zipdrive.
I talked to people that successfully used a Zipdrive with a RamFast card.
Is it my interface that's causing all the I/O error and damage to my
Zipdisks? I have one of those HS Apple Scsi cards.
