Sorry if you already knew this, but I would double-check the drive cable is correctly plugged into the interface card. The old disk II cards had a screwy upside down, non-keyed connector and if you got it ONE pin off, it could blow a chip inside the drive. (I did this myself some 15 years ago--after that, I ALWAYS turn the card over and triple check that I've plugged it correctly) David S.
