My Disk II blew up!

Hi,
	A while back I got a IIe w/no disk drives included.  I had 2 disk IIs
that came w/a broken II+ I also have.  I plugged the disk II into the
IIe correctly as far as I could tell, but when I turned it on something
started making this bizarre high-pitched squeeling noise and smoke
started coming out of the disk II.  Needless to say, I haven't tried to
run the IIe at all, but I'd like to if it doesn't mean blowing something
else up.  Please help.  Thanks in advance :).
