Need info on Apple II stuff
Greetings,
I have two unusual Apple II accessories that I'd like to get some info
on. The first is a Rana hard drive. The tag with the model number is
barely readable, but it looks like 10HC. Vintage 1982 according to the
PC boards. It uses a Shugart 712 drive(looks a lot like an IBM RLL
style) with some drive electronics and an interface card in the Apple.
The drive itself is pretty noisey, but it does try to boot. The screen
displays: WAITING FOR READY.... then scrolls up a page and displays:
UNABLE TO LOAD TABLES RE-INITIALIZE HARD DRIVE
The DOS 3.3 initialize command has no effect so I suspect this thing had
its own set of drivers. Can anyone help?
The second item is a unit called ISAAC Model 91A made by the Cyborg
Corp. also around 1982. This thing is full of A/D and D/A converters
and apparently was used for data aquistion and process control. The
Apple Thesaurus gives a pretty good description of it. I'd like to find
the interface card for it and any documentation/software.
If you know anything more about either of these two pieces, please
drop me a line. Thanks in advance.
