I remember asking this question on a.f.c not long ago! The
collective response can be summed up with the following:
In 1986 (or was it 87) John Scully, prodded by some investors,
was encouraged to dump the Lisae for a tax writeoff. The
computers were gutted and buried in Utah, the parts kept or
sold to outfits like Sun Remarketing (also in Utah).
I believe this version is farily accurate; IIRC some page on
CHAC's website (was it a copy of the Analytical Engine?)
mentioned that, though going through Utah with a pickaxe is
not worth a few thousand gutted Lisae, their Lisa/XL's case
is getting a bit yellowed. (As is mine!)
