last fall.

If you get a SCSI CD-ROM drive, the investment is safe to move on
with your next computer (however, most new computers have one built-in).

I use my CD-ROM to access data and music CD-ROMs. Nothing like
playing CDs in the background while you work. As a more useful tool,
CD-ROMs (like the Golden Orchard CD-ROM) contain LARGE amounts of data
that is much easier to access that when looking for it on floppies.
Having all that Freeware/ShareWare on a CD-ROM, I can just use the Find
File DA and find what I'm looking for instead of digging through 50+ disks
looking for that right program. Lets not forget to mention CD-ROM's like
"The Family Doctor" which are fun to read and also useful when you aren't
feeling to good. I've used it at least once or twice when I came down
with something. :)

	Last time I checked, Alltech had a 2x CD-ROM drive for $100.
That's pretty inexpensive in my book. It's worth it only if you know what
you'll use it for. Don't buy it "because everyone else has one". Do it
because you can utilize it to make your GS a better machine.

I don't work for any companies associated with Apple II CD-ROMs,
but I look forward to purchasing them when they come out.

	Just my II sense.
