This is most definately NOT true.  I have a Vulcan-GS, which ran very
nicely in my IIgs until recently; just last week, I traded controller
cards with another Vulcan owner, and now the Vulcan is living in my
enhance ][e.  The ][+ version will work in the ][+, ][e, or IIgs; the IIgs
version will only work in the IIgs (which is why I got involved in a
card-swap).

And I'm working on the listed problem.  I'll post if I think of a cause or
solution.
