That was Apple's official reason. They aren't going to admit to a problem
with 3rd-party products, are they :)

They do in the UK... I even managed to get a ROM 255 to ROM 0 upgrade for
mine, which simply enables UniDisk access...

Why upgrade - the ROM 00 machine's will be worth something one day!
Note: There were 250 Signature GS's according to my archives. Still quite
rare!
The beige one I have referred to isn't a Woz; it's pre-production.
