I still have my //e that I bought (well my mum bought it for me!) in
about 1988. It was second hand but it was un-enhanced and has black
lettered keys.
I only enhanced it a couple of years ago when I bought another //e of
eBay which came with the upgraded ROMs, etc. The upgraded ROMs were
all EEPROMs though, so it was a home grown enhancement kit. ;-)

The black lettered keys can be clearly seen in some of the pictures
