Re: Zip chip on a IIc
My "flagship IIC" has an AE ZRAM ULTRA 3 and a ZIP-8 chip. Both work great.
I write to suggest that if you are moving you ZIP chip in and out of the
socket, you are then weakinging its forty legs.
To save it from breaking a leg during all this movement, install the Zip
chip in a "carrier", another socket.
JAMECO even has a 40-pin ZIF (zero insertion force) socket --- expensive
(about $8) but worth it if you are moving such a valuable chip around...
