	What you describe sounds like a software problem, not hardware.
In fact, I've experienced a simular problem several months ago, seeing
stray pixels appear in windows and especially dots or solid lines over
anything using the built-in Shaston.8 font. 

	The source was Seven Hill's Kanagroo, for some unknown reason,
at random it will do something odd to it's setup file and cause the
above problem. Until the bug is fixed, purge the file 'Kangaroo.Pref'
found in /System/Preferences and reboot (Kanagroo will create a new
file in it's place). If it happens frequently, you may want to make
a backup file and swap it with the current one whenever the problem
reappears. There _is_ a Kanagroo 1.5 update available, but it's only
available in Europe, as is the case with TransProg III and The Manager.
