Apple ][ comms Z-Link

HI,
    I have an Apple ][ europlus and a "normal" serial external modem
which I have used on my PC (compaq) a few times, a friend has just
borrowed me Z-Link comms software, the problem is after it boots this
pops up ->

ENTER PREFIX (PRESS "RETURN" TO ACCEPT)
/COMMS/

What does this mean?? After I press return to accept this up pops
another message ->

ENTER PATHNAME OF NEXT APPLICATION
(if I hit return the following pops up)
FILE/PATH NOT FOUND

Firstly, will this modem work with the apple?(as I do have a serial
card and the plug does fit)

Secondly, Can anyone tell me how to use Z-LINK??
