Introl X10?

Here's a mystery card.  I came across something labeled
"Introl X-10", it's about the size of the oldstyle Disk II
controller cards, and has a single thin cable running
from two traces on the card to a brown rubber thing that
looks like a thimble on both ends.  I have no idea what
it should be doing.  :)  I am "rediscovering" my X10 stuff
(gotta do something with the IIe) but have no idea what
this ever did.
