Some additional information may help someone who has experience with
the problem answer your question:
Does your II+ have a Language Card installed? (i.e. do you have 64K
memory?)
When you turn ON the II+ does it try to boot a diskette?
What does the prompt look like? (Is it a ">" or "]" or what?)
What commands are you typing in? What happens if you type-in LIST?
Are all letters in the commands you enter in upper case? The II+ does
not recognize commands in lower case.
What happens when you start by booting a game disk? Does the machine
run the game? After a few minutes does the game refuse to recognize key
presses or just plain bomb or does it work without a hitch?
