You're likely experiencing problems due to one or more of the
following:
1. Attempting to use the numeric keypad on your computer
2. Replying to prompts for alphabetic information in lower case
The game was programmed in Integer Basic at a time when lower case
wasn't standard equipment on the Apple II, so programmers often didn't
check for the possibility that the user might enter lower case. When
you try to navigate and it prompts you as to whether you want to use
the warp or ion drive "W" or "I", entering either "w" or "i" is
ignored. As for numeric input, the ActiveGS emulator that Virtual
Apple uses doesn't map the inputs from the numeric keypad the way you
expect, so you have to use the numbers from the top row of keys.
