Re: Apple //e uploading
Bigbob@pbfreenet.Seflin.L marvelled at the genius:
| newsgroup. I have tried to send Applesoft Prodos basic files and
| Prodos binary files to my 'homefiles' with X-modem, Y-modem,
| Z-modem, and Kermit. The Proterm manual suggests I use X-modem or
| Y-modem with binary II encoding.
You ARE archiving the uploads (with ShrinkIt) before sending, right?
Nothing rips my nickers worse than someone sending a file to a board
with no extention. Some clown filled harddrive space on one board with
a file named only "TERMINAL". What, is it a Basic file, a textfile, a
SHK archive, a DDD archive, a ZIP file, a Sys file, what what what????
On an Apple BBS, you'd see the filetype -- PC's don't do that, ergo the
three letters after the period in filenames.
Don't use BinII encoding when sending to a PC. Only Apples recognise
that. Use Zmodem in "by filetype" or "binary" mode to send.
Beyond that, you'll have to be a little more detailed what is wrong.
