I recently acquired a Iomega Zip drive for my Macintosh. I also
bought a few extra 100Mb disks. I decided to share the Zip with the
Apple IIGS. Got some problems trying to use it.
I have a Apple IIGS ROM 3 machine with 2Mb of RAM, and connected
the Iomega Zip with my Apple High Speed SCSI card on slot 4 (Your Card).
There's a ZipGSX 9/32 on slot 3 as well.
I recall seeing someone being able to use the Iomega Zip on his
GS with lots of problems a couple of weeks ago (also the reason that
prompted me to get one myself !). I tried to partition with the Advanced
Disk Utilities on System 6.0.1 as well as the Apple II HS SCSI Card
Utilities Disk. None of them worked. I always come backs to GS/OS unable
to initialise the partitions when I attempted to install System 6.0.1.
Any pointers on how am I to use the Iomega Zip with the Apple
IIGS ? I just wanted either 4 ProDOS partitions, or 1 ProDOS and 1 HFS
parition on the Iomega Zip.
Any help is MUCH appreciated. If it works all well, I will
probably help write a FAQ for connecting and Iomega Zip to the Apple IIGS.
