I read in a PC mag for eduycators last fall that there are some 5.8 million
computers in uyse in the grades k-12 in the USA...and of those some 50% are
the old 8-bit Apple variety....that means some 2.9 million machines as an
installed
base...not to mention a sizable percentage of 8-bit IBM/clones still out there.
...and if IBM has some 35% of the market, then there would seem to be relatively
few MACs in place in the classrooms...probably more in colleges than in
k-12...most in the lower schools are in high schools...I'll have to search
around for that issue and get the exact numbers.
