MECC Comp Inspector

Stephen Buggie let the beans talk:

BUE(| MECC COMPUTER INSPECTOR APPLE II
BUE(| This disk has a "Machine Identification" program that tells you
     | the version of Apple IIe/IIc/IIc+/IIgs, the amount of memory you
     | have, and _especially_ it identifies all of the interface cards
     | in your slots. Considering the thousands of A2 interface cards
     | ever produced, this disk does an impressive job.

True... but it's not perfect. Neither MECC-CI nor SlotScan 1.62
recognise the Epic 2400 internal modem in my machine, and where SlotScan
will tell me that the Xebec SASI card for my 10 meg Sider in slot 7 is a
"Semi-intelligent drive card" and how the drive is partitioned (or if no
drive is connected, tell how big the partitions can be), the MECC-CI
just says "unknown." SlotScan should be available on cco.caltech. (And
a hearty hello to Bob Claney if you're still out there... :) )

The card in question, a "preproduction" number, probably won't be ID'd
by either program, however. Worth a shot though. More Info On Card!!!
