Two nights ago I went to print from AppleWorks and got nothing through
a printer that ran fine from the Davex shell. I checked everything and
finally found that ProDOS had mapped one of 5 hard disk partitions to
slot 1, drive 1. Somehow, this seemed to mask the printer in slot 1,
although I don't understand how. If I told ProDOS that I only had
4 partitions, these mapped into slots 7 and 5 and left 1 alone and
I got printer output.
