The modem in question was a 1200 or 2400 bps model. The 2,3 & 7 lines
being the minimum required came out of the ProTERM 3.1 manual.

If it ain't broke... Seriously, dropped characters have never been a
problem with this cable. Even before I stuck a Zip Chip in the IIe.
