Thanks to you and others for the help.  As it turns out, my IIgs
passes the self-test started by the joystick method, but does not
recognise the keyboard.  The keyboard works fine on other machines,
and the ADB port has been resoldered on the motherboard.  I guess
that implies that the self-test doesn't test the ADB controller.

*sigh*

So the machine will boot and run fine, I just can't control anything.
