I've got another one called "The Apple Connection" by James W. Coffron
on Sybex. It seems to be a very good starters book. It starts with
very basic concepts and works up through simple game port (a home
security system) and interface card (an A/D converter) projects. It
also covers the BASIC programming required to access the hardware. If
you already know the basics, you might want to skip past it though.
