but you can't use ftp protocol to talk to the telnet client - well, not
the default telnet client on Unix anyways.  Perhaps some of the folk have
a telnet that also does ftp.

It would be nice if there were WWW access similar to the unlimited telnet
that you describe.  HTTP should be less a load than either telnet or
ftp since it is stateless.
