InnerDrive does not have the drive size burn into its firmware.
(Otherwise the 40meg drive I had could not have worked with the 20meg
drive firmware) The formatter and firmware are lock into each other however;
that is to say that a specific version of format utility will only work
with specific version of the firmware.
I am not certain if the firmware will work with drive size larger than
40meg (never tried it) Maybe one of these days if I come across a cheap
8-bit IDE drive larger than 20meg...
